Nai Harn Beach

Nai Harn Beach is located to the south of Phuket in Thailand. Though it is frequented by thousands of visitors annually, it still retains its pristine and untouched beauty.

Big Buddha

Located atop Nakkerd Hills is the 45 meters (148 feet) tall white marble statue of Lord Buddha. White Burmese marble is used in the making of the grand statue. The imposing Buddha statue has an air of serenity that will instantly calm your senses.

This is one of the most notable landmarks in Phuket and all of Thailand for its sheer size. From the hilltop, you will get a panoramic view of the island. Wat Chalong 

Locally known as Wat Chalong, Chalong Temple is one of the most famous Buddhist shrines in Phuket, Thailand. One of the iconic buildings in the area, it houses a stupa measuring 60 meters in height. The shrine is also home to a tiny, preserved bone fragment from Gautama Buddha’s body.  

There are illustrations and beautiful paintings in the pagoda interiors narrating Lord Buddha’s life. Many people donate golden statues in the shrine, and all of them are displayed at the pagoda. You can reach the terrace by climbing the stairs and enjoy a sweeping view of the place.

Karon Viewpoint

One of the leading Phuket attractions is Karon Viewpoint. Looking out over the Andaman Sea, you can see amazing views of the three bays – Kata, Kata Noi, and Karon – from up there. Kata Noi is the closest one, while Karon is the farthest.

Monkey Hill

Monkey Hill is also known as Toh Sae Hill and is the highest hill in Phuket, Thailand. Approximately 400 macaques are residing on the hill in small groups. These monkeys don’t attack humans, but they often target various belongings that people carry.

Volunteer for Soi Dog Foundation

Stray animals are pretty common in Thailand. Cats and dogs roam in abundance on the streets of the country. If you love animals, you must spend at least one day volunteering at the SOI Dog Foundation.

Jui Tui Shrine

Jui Tui Shrine is one of the most iconic landmarks in Phuket, Thailand. The architecture of the shrine is not like other Thai temples. Long series of renovations have been done to the shrine, all adding unique elements to its structure.

Presently, there are three large statues in the temple of different Chinese gods. The most prominent god is Tean Hu Huan Soy, god of dancing and performing arts. There is a chicken and a dog next to the statue, as these were his childhood pets. The temple is colorful with intricate motifs and designs.

Similan Islands 

If you are willing to travel a little from Phuket, you can see an extraordinary place – Similan Islands. These islands are located at a distance of almost 100 kilometers northwest of Phuket in the Andaman Sea.

Samet Nangshe Viewpoint

Samset Nangshe was not a place of attraction a few years back. The place has been explored recently, and the views from the top are simply awe-inspiring.

The climb uphill is quite a steep one. It takes some time and effort to reach the spot, but once you are there, you will be stunned by the jaw-dropping scenic beauty of the place. Currently, a pickup truck works to take passengers up on the top for a reasonable charge. It is also a great camping spot.
