35 Places to Visit and Best Things to do in Dallas, Texas

Dallas is a major metropolis in the US state of Texas. Dallas is also where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. But Dallas is also so much more than just Dealey Plaza and JFK’s assassination is not the only thing that defines it. It is a cornucopia of contemporary art and rich culture. A gastronomical paradise with a bustling nightlife, Dallas also has some of the most awe-inspiring museums and futuristic skyscrapers.

Whether you are a local or a tourist visiting Dallas for the first time, we’ve compiled the ultimate guide for stuff to do in Dallas.

Here are 35 fun things to do in Dallas, Texas:

Dealey Plaza

The “birthplace of Dallas”, Dealey Plaza, is also the place where John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Situated in downtown Dallas, the JFK memorial at Dealey Plaza is a National Historic Landmark, and rightly so. JFK’s single-handedly shifted the course of American history.

Dedicated in 1970, the memorial at Dealey Plaza is a tribute to JFK and the city’s attempt at coping with the tragedy of that fateful day.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

If you are a conspiracy theory buff, the Sixth Floor Museum is one of the best places to visit in Dallas. It journals the life, career, and assassination of JFK in vivid details through upwards of 60,000 antiquities, including Zapruder’s film that accidentally caught JFK’s assassination on camera.

Stand in the exact window from where Lee Harvey Oswald took those shots and visit the X marked spot on the street where John F. Kennedy fell. Even after nearly six decades since that fateful day, melancholy lays heavy in the air.
