One of the largest cities in the US, it is a pure reflection of life in Texas. A medley of entertainment, diversity, and cultural exuberance, there are just too many things to do in San Antonio Texas.

Mission San Jose

One of the four Spanish frontier missions of the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park, Mission San Jose was founded in 1720. A part of the city’s historical heritage, it was then named for Saint Joseph and the Marqués de San Miguel de Aguayo, the governor of the Province of Coahuila and Texas.

The mission is an active parish and visitors can attend the Sunday mass. Take a break from being a tourist and stroll around the mission premises for some quality time of solitude.

The Children’s Museum has a truly inspirational story behind it. A group of parents came together to build 190 children’s museums in the United States. They believed this would go a long way in early childhood development for the community. And that does hold to be true – especially for the museum in Houston.

The Children’s Museum offers a collection of intriguing subjects. These aim to raise the natural curiosity of children. The museum holds interactive exhibits in science, arts, technology, history, and culture for the family as well. They also have an adept section called The Market where children learn how to interact and behave in the real world. That includes using the oft-needed ATMs.

Dallas is also where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. But Dallas is also so much more than just Dealey Plaza and JFK’s assassination is not the only thing that defines it. It is a cornucopia of contemporary art and rich culture. A gastronomical paradise with a bustling nightlife, Dallas also has some of the most awe-inspiring museums and futuristic skyscrapers.

Whether you are a local or a tourist visiting Dallas for the first time, we’ve compiled the ultimate guide for stuff to do in Dallas.

Here are 35 fun things to do in Dallas, Texas:

Dealey Plaza

The “birthplace of Dallas”, Dealey Plaza, is also the place where John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Situated in downtown Dallas, the JFK memorial at Dealey Plaza is a National Historic Landmark, and rightly so. JFK’s single-handedly shifted the course of American history.

Dedicated in 1970, the memorial at Dealey Plaza is a tribute to JFK and the city’s attempt at coping with the tragedy of that fateful day.

When at the memorial, do not forget to visit the Sixth Floor Museum too.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

If you are a conspiracy theory buff, the Sixth Floor Museum is one of the best places to visit in Dallas. It journals the life, career, and assassination of JFK in vivid details through upwards of 60,000 antiquities, including Zapruder’s film that accidentally caught JFK’s assassination on camera.

Stand in the exact window from where Lee Harvey Oswald took those shots and visit the X marked spot on the street where John F. Kennedy fell. Even after nearly six decades since that fateful day, melancholy lays heavy in the air.
