The Little Mermaid

The little mermaid statue of Copenhagen was made in 1913 as a gift to the city by Danish brewer Carl Jacobsen. This bronze and granite statue is inspired by the writer Hans Anderson’s fairy tale. Carl fell in love with the character after seeing the ballet at the Royal Danish Theatre and commissioned the statue. This statue also honors the ballerina Ellen Prince who did the lead role in the ballet.

Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens is a fun amusement park for both adults and children. It has a large children’s play area, concert venues, casinos, more than 40 restaurants, shops, and beautiful gardens. Tivoli Gardens was opened in 1843, and it is also one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. The park has coral reefs with 1600 fishes and several casinos.

Visit the popular tourist attraction: Nyhavn

Nyhavn is a perfect place to end a beautiful day, especially when it is summer. Nyhavn is a commercial harbor that is busy with sailors, alehouses, and pubs. This harbor is filled with people who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere by the canal with great food and some jazz music.

The famous author Hans Christian Anderson used to live here in the harbor, and several of his works were written while he was here. Stroll through the car-free Strøget

Visiting Strøget or the car-free shopping area is one of the fun Copenhagen things to do. Christiansborg Palace

Christiansborg Palace is situated on a small island of slotsholmen in the heart of Denmark’s capital with canals around it. The country boasts to having one of the oldest monarchies in the world. Under the roof, this palace houses the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Danish prime minister’s office. It also accommodates the Danish Monarchy.

The Christiansborg Palace is also the Queen’s workplace where she signs laws, holds banquets, and celebrates royal events.

National Museum of Denmark

Botanical Garden

Bakken Amusement Park

Bakken, made in 1583, is the oldest amusement park. It was also a pilgrimage spot and was called healing springs. Bakken park is now an amusement park with rides, a theatre for kids, and restaurants with live music. The Bakken park has an 82-year-old rollercoaster.

The Glyptotek

The Glyptotek is one of the famous Copenhagen attractions, Denmark. It is an art museum built around the collections of Carl Jacobsen. Church of Our Saviour

One of the famous Copenhagen attractions is also one of the most famous churches with an external spiral winding staircase to climb to the top. It offers great views of central Copenhagen. Carillon at this church is very impressive in all of Northern Europe.

It plays melodies every night from 8 pm onwards. The church is built in Dutch Baroque style. It is unlike other buildings by the Christian IV, where they are arranged very systematically. The altarpiece is considered a masterpiece—a scene from the Garden of Gethsemane. There is an old organ with the King’s name on it.

Copenhill

Copenhill is a famous skiing area and a famous Copenhagen Sightseeing spot. Danish architect Bjarke Ingels designed this waste-to-energy plant. Design Museum Denmark

If you are into the design and culture of the Danish people, this is the best place to visit. Did you know some of the most famous Danish designers from the mid-century period, Arne Jacobsen, Georg Jensen, Finn Juhl, and Hans J. Wegner made Danish design fashionable on the international scale.

Visit the happening Refshaleøen

Amalienborg

The Round Tower

It is a 17th-century observatory and one of the oldest functioning observatory and astronomical achievements of the country. Christian IV built it in honor of Tycho Brahe, an astronomer.
